1. Recycling Network launches
A new online recycling network, designed to be a hub for 'new and existing recycling projects, campaigns, organisations and people who are passionate about recycling', has launched.
The Recycling Network encouragesand rewards people and organisations that recycle by offering free promotion, unique deals, member competitions and 'other incentives' from supportive partners.
Speaking of the launch, founder Chris Davis said: "It's good to know that organisations we buy from are doing something proactive about recycling and reducing waste. It's important to celebrate the good things they are doing and give them some public acknowledgement.
"We send out simple newsletters letting people know about new campaigns and projects they might be interested in, organisations who are going that step further, and the little things people can do to recycle more. The network is led by the public so we are always on the look out for fun and unique ideas and useful recommendations we can share."

2. Be Bright Recycle Your Light
Producer compliance scheme Recolight has released a new video featuring its recycling mascot, Bertie Bulb, encouraging householders to recycle their low-energy light bulbs.
' Be Bright Recycle Your Light ' shows Bertie Bulb recycling light bulbs in Lambeth, which, according to Recolight, has 19 bulb recycling sites, making it 'the most comprehensive collection service for light bulbs anywhere in the country'.
Suzanne Castine, Marketing Manager at Recolight, said: "At Recolight, we realise that recycling facilities have to be convenient for people to use them. We are pleased with the partnerships we've established so far, working with retailers and local authorities to provide more places to recycle. However, we are aware that more needs to be done to raise awareness, and we hope that Bertie Bulb's second video will be as successful as his debut, which was launched last summer."

3. Novelis increases price of automotive aluminium sheet products
Aluminium recycling company Novelis has announced a price increase of €160 (£138) per tonne for all of its automotive aluminium sheet products in Europe.
The price change is effective immediately for all new orders not covered by current supply agreements. It follows a €100 (£86) per tonne price rise for Novelis painted aluminium sheet products in Europe, announced in June.
Roland Harings, Vice President of Global Automotive for Novelis Incorporated said: "The price increase announced today reflects the strong demand for our automotive sheet products, which has resulted in a prevailing tight supply situation.
"Automobile manufacturers are increasingly turning to aluminium as the material of choice to reduce vehicle mass and help meet new targets in performance, fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. In response to this demand, we are expanding our capacity to meet growing customer requirements for high-volume delivery of Novelis [aluminium] for a new generation of lighter-weight vehicles."
4. Brachlianoff to lead Northern European Zone of Veolia Environnement
Novelis is currently investing more than $310 million (£205 million) to increase its production of aluminium sheet products for automotive manufacturers.
Estelle Brachlianoff has been appointed as Veolia Environnement Director of Northern Europe and UK Country Director, combining responsibility for its water and waste management activities.
As Director of Northern Europe, Brachlianoff will be responsible for the UK, Belgium, Denmark, Eire, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.
The move marks a change in business operations, which are now country-based, with water and waste management activities each placed under the authority of a single director and structured around nine geographic zones.
Brachlianoff also joins the Veolia Environnement Executive Committee, chaired by Chairman and CEO, Antoine Frérot.
Brachlianoff said: "I am pleased to take on this new role in Northern Europe as well as UK country manager for the newly merged water and waste business. The evolution and joining together of our businesses will I believe make us stronger, more flexible and better able to adapt to our ever changing markets."
